Our Mission
APTA is a volunteer, nonprofit organization of Travel Professionals.
It is the goal and purpose of APTA to promote tourism to the continent of Africa and its Islands. APTA will seek to improve tourism to Africa through the education of its members.
Half Price Air Fare to South Africa!
This is a rare opportunity for one of our valued APTA members to travel by air to South Africa at half price.
We have a situation in the San Diego Protravel office whereby in order to preserve a group rate with SAA, one more ticket needs to be purchased, and we are doing so. Essentially, a seat is being bought with no passenger in the seat. [Click here for detail!]

South Africa Tourism is pleased to announce that Sacramento APTA wins DISKI Dance Competition. South African Tourism congratulates Sacramento APTA for their commitment to increasing awareness to South Africa and the 2010 Soccer Cup Soccer. Their achievement earned them $1000 to be applied to their favorite charity courtesy of $500 from APTA and $500 from South African Tourism.

Dear APTA Members:
This Newsletter will find the World Cup behind us and seems only yesterday we were practicing our Diski dancing and getting ready for the big event. What a wonderful showing for South Africa and incredible coverage by ESPN. Even the newscasters were surprised to find all that South Africa has to offer as a destination and seemed to realize this goes well beyond the soccer. Well done to South Africa for putting on such an amazing show and I think it will be some time before we get the sounds of the vuvuzela's out of our heads!
The National Forum was an incredible success and many things accomplished. Thank you to Kathy Moroney and the Sacramento Chapter for putting together a fantastic event and coordinating seminars, speakers, day to business with fun evening activities that allowed opportunities for us to network with our friends and colleagues. Special thanks to Kate Daniel for all she did to ensure the success of the Forum and improve upon our formula. Another special thanks to Beth Lincoln for her behind the scenes assistance and to all off the National Board for their efforts.
Lisa Greyhill and our Presidents worked very hard for many hours and were able to bring many issues to conclusions thank you all for the time and commitment you give to APTA. Without you and your dedication we would not be where we are today.
Thank you to all of our speakers and panelists we are thrilled to have been able to provide a solid educational component and without you this would not have been possible. And last but certainly never least, thanks to all our Chapter and Corporate members who attended the Forum and for their input and support of this very important event for our organization.
Fall brings very busy times for all of our Chapter's and meetings in full swing. There are also other trade shows and events happening and will be a lot for us to keep up with. Please be sure to watch www.apta,biz for news and happenings.
The Spring Discover Africa Shows will be as follows so please "save the dates":
March 8th - Denver, Colorado
March 10th - Seattle, Washington
March 15th - Phoenix, Arizona
March 17th - Los Angeles, California
Please continue reading to find out what's new and exciting in Africa and enjoy the rest of the Summer!
Best regards,
Kathryn
