Sibusiso Foundation

Naipenda Safaris: Our favorite charity is the Sibusiso Foundation in Arusha, Tanzania. It's a special school set up to help mentally handicapped children - those often hidden from view due to embarrassment on the part of parents.

It was started several years ago by Henk and Atty Hammerroos, both former
"Doctors without Borders". They saw the need and moved on it. They have also set up a corporation which built a lodge - the profit from which goes to help support the school. It's called Kigongoni Lodge and is located just at the hilltop above the school.

A quarterly newsletter is available regarding this charity. Unfortunately they do not have a bank account in the USA - but I can certainly inquire as to doing so.
