A Note from Jack

Hi Warren,

I saw your name on the APTA News and wanted to say hello. I hope you and your family are doing well and that your business thrives.

I retired my business last year on my eightieth birthday. It gave me such pleasure to take and send several hundred people to Africa and many other destinations over the years. It also afforded me eighty trips out to the African continent after we had lived in Kenya for five years back in the '60s. What fabulous perks! I do miss my friends from the travel business and enjoy reading the APTA NEWS letters. So many friends were from the earliest days. Several of us organized the Northern California Chapter in 1991. I served as Vice President and then President in the 1990s and then on the National Board for three years, all very pleasurable.

My wife, Lou, and I are spending our retirement years in a lovely condo perched above Ludlow Bay, a part of the Puget Sound in Port Ludlow, Washington. We have a magnificent view of evergreen forests and water and including our Ludlow marina. Our bay is a popular weekend spot for many yachts from neighboring towns and from Victoria over in British Columbia. We can often hear their conversations from our deck!

Unfortunately, both Lou and I are having some health issues this year, but our doctors are attending to us and things are improving. We are so fortunate for each having only one major illness in all our 57 years of marriage, so health issues simply have seldom been a part of our lives. Two of our sons live fairly nearby and our youngest in California flies up to check on us quite often.

I would enjoy hearing from APTA members. My contacts are
