Rocky Mountain Chapter Events
With our mission statement in mind, Rocky Mountain APTA has put together an outstanding schedule of educational programs for 2010. Please make note of the following programs and we look forward to seeing you!
Join us for the last of our summer luncheon series for 2010 with wildlife biologist Bill Given.
As a wildlife biologist Bill has worked with everything from butterflies to African lions. He is currently involved in a predator research project in Botswana. His revolutionary research project there could be critical in conserving predators outside of the protected parks, particularly lions and African wild dogs. [ Click here for details ]
Africa Adventure Consultants - Company Update:
Africa Adventure Consultants is pleased to announce that we were named the 2010 Tanzania Tourist Board Best Outfitter Southern & Western Circuit. Additionally, National Geographic Traveler named our Ethiopian Epic one of the Top 50 Tours of a Lifetime! This year, we launched our "Green Safaris" tours including our Tanzania Green Safari and Mozambique Eco-Adventure. President Kent Redding has been named to the board of the non-profit organization, AfricAid, which supports educational programs for girls in Tanzania.
Highlights from Kent Redding's recent Akorn FAM trip to Egypt
We toured the pyramids of Giza with our outstanding Egyptologist, Zainab, who should be counted amongst the many treasures of Egypt, the Egyptian museum, including the King Tut exhibit and the mummy room. We also visited several Cairo hotels, our favorite being the Four Seasons Cairo at Nile Plaza and the Sofitel Cairo El Gezirah. We enjoyed a 3-night cruise on the The Nile Adventurer with 32 cabins including 2 deluxe and 2 presidential suites, which are both well worth the money. The standard cabins are fine, but book early to get a king bed on the top two decks. The dining room and lounge are very comfortable and the food is delicious and plentiful. Of course, you have to see the Valleys of Kings and Queens and temples, but be sure to make time to explore the markets and neighborhoods like we did in our horse-drawn carriage in Luxor.
